Emily was born in Phoenix, Arizona but spent most of her childhood life in Indonesia, where her love of swimming and everything aquatic related blossomed. She grew up surfing, racing sailboats, snorkeling, and swimming in both pools and the ocean. Upon moving back to California her sophomore year of high school, she joined a recreational swim team and became a lifeguard and swim instructor by her junior year. Her passion for teaching swim lessons grew as she taught children from as young as 6 months to as old as 14 years, in both private and group settings. Having grown up her whole life around the water, her number one priority when teaching is safety. And number two of course is to have fun!
