Gavyn is a rising sophomore at Occidental College studying Critical Theory and Social Justice. He started competitively swimming in Las Vegas, Nevada until he moved to Seattle where he swam under the coaching of his mother. With over six years of experience teaching and coaching swimming, he has a genuine passion for education and water safety. Eventually, he moved to Los Angeles to attend and compete for Oxy. Other than swimming, Gavyn enjoys skating, musical theatre, and all things outdoors! He cannot wait to begin meeting new swimmers and spreading the joy of being in the water!

Q2: If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?
Norway. I want to ski the fjords with my best friend who moved back there.
Q3: What is your favorite thing about being a swim instructor?
Engaging with young swimmers who are passionate about the water!
Q4: Who is your hero?
My hero is Micheal Phelps. Since day one, in 2004, I have looked up to and emulated everything that Phelps does and one day I hope to meet and have coffee with him!
