We are so lucky to welcome Leah to Head Above Water in 2016! While she's new to our team, she comes to us as a highly experienced swim instructor, having taught kids of all ages how to swim with the City of Glendale for nearly 8 years. Personally, Leah has been swimming since she was four years old and after many years of her own lessons, her favorite swim instructor encouraged her to join a swim team, which prepared her for the four years she spent swimming competitively on her high school swim team. Having gained such amazing memories in the pool, she decided to become a lifeguard and swim instructor at the same place where she took swim lessons when she was a child. Leah is passionate about giving back and helping kids create great aquatic experiences of their own. She recently graduated from UCSD with a Bachelor's degree in Biology and Anthropology and is starting to take coursework towards a Master's degree. She's excited to join Head Above Water and be able to continue doing what she loves!!
